Getting to San Ignacio
You can cross the country on the western bus line for $5usd. The bus will leave from the Belize City bus terminal and will take you right in to the San Ignacio terminal. The ride will usually about 2:30hr to 3:00hr long. If landing at the airport you will still need to take a taxi to the bus terminal. The fixed price is $25usd.
If private transportation is more your style they are tourist shuttles which charge between $25 to $35usd per person but will pick you up at the airport, saving you the $25usd taxi expense. Contact us and we can arrange this for you.
Where to Stay in San Ignacio
The best hostel in San Ignacio is Bella’s Backpackers. This is the biggest hostel and been around for over twenty years. Lots of cool people work there and you will feel right at home and get lots of friends to explore San Ignacio with. I would stay here for a week. San Ignacio is my favourite town.
What to do in San Ignacio
The ATM Caves are without a doubt the most popular activity to do here. The best tour guide to use is named Emil, he is not on the street trying to sell tours to tourists walking by. He works with a lot of the hostels here and gets his clients that way. If you are interested in the best ATM tour around contact us and we will book it for you.
