Meet my Chicken Flock. Raising Chickens in the Belize Jungle. Rooster, Broilers, Layers (Hens)

Meet my Chicken Flock. Raising Chickens in the Belize Jungle. Rooster, Broilers, Layers (Hens)

I kept a female Broiler alive since my first round of raising chickens for meat. This broiler is now massive and my Rooster has finally had sex with her. This also implies she is getting ready to lay eggs. A local Rooster crossed with a Mennonite Broiler? I am curious to see what kind of baby chickens they will create. Building a Pig Pen in the Jungle

Building a Pig Pen in the Jungle

Clearing Land for my Farm

The last week I have spent several hours each day chopping though the jungle preparing a road into the 0.6 acre lot that will be the future location to a very successful farm.

Raising Baby Chickens

Raising Baby Chickens

I have bought ten little chicks to raise and turn into pounds of chicken meat. I eat it anyway but have been buying from the store which is someone else’s chicken. Why not raise your own chickens to create meat for you and reduce your food expense? It makes sense to me, and they are really cute too. Farm animals are awesome! I’m going to keep track of the expense. How much does it cost to turn one little chick…
