Poustinia Land Art Gallery – Environmental Art in the Jungle

The Art at Poustinia is harbored within an area of 100 acres, complete with motorcycle friendly trails, ancient Mayan mounds, and resting areas. A ten minute drive south of Benque and you will see the sign on your left. I spent a couple hours exploring it all and will be coming back for sure. Cabins, camping, and even a kitchen for guests. Very few people have been to this place and it was awesome!

The cost is $20bz and you can buy your ticket from a lady named Carmita Ruiz who can be reached at 823-2123 and lives across from the Benque Market Square

“Poustinia is art with an Indiana Jones wilderness spin.” – Andrew Steinhauer, Belizean Art Critic

“Beyond the gates lies a sculpture park that evokes the spirit of ‘Fitzcarraldo’, Werner Herzog’s film about a man’s quest to bring opera to the rain forest.” – Bruce Scott, New York Times
